Heorotlinea's WHATSE Site - Overview Page

I created this page mainly so that I could post my long story, What Happened after the Series Ended?, or WHATSE.  Consider "WHATSE" to be the official acronym.  This story principally concerns the good guys and bad guys from "Thunder Cats," "Silver Hawks," "Captain N:  The Game Master," "Super Mario Brothers," "Darkwing Duck," and "Star Trek:  The Next Generation."

Here is a chronology:

Late 1991, early 1992 (?) - "Reunion of the Mushroom World and VideoLand" (official acronym:  RMW&VL) begun.

Spring 1992 - "Nightmare on von Koopa Street" (part of RMW&VL) begun for my 9th grade English class, then "The Terrible Secret."

Middle of 1992 (?) - Beginning of the Darkwing Duck's Justice Ducks Section.

Fall 1992 - "The Ultimate Encounter" begun.

Late 1992, early 1993 - "Nucless's Evil Plot" written, with only the Chemistrian characters and Nucless, for my 10th grade English class.

Summer 1993 - "Q-niverse" begun.

Middle of 1994 - Beginning of "The Wondertwins" to clarify Cardassian-Exorian matters presented in "Q-niverse"; story "officially" begun in April 1996.  (And no end in sight yet. . .)

American Thanksgiving Day Week, 1994 - "Formal" beginning of "The Return of the N-Team," which was given consideration a few years earlier.

Spring 1995 - First inclusion of Sam Collins, friends, Malcolm, & Kilokahn as secondary characters in "The Return of the N-Team."

Late 1995, early 1996 - Decision to introduce X-Men as secondary characters, also in "The Return of the N-Team."

March 1996 - "A Ring and Two Triforces" is begun; basic plot has been conceived beforehand.

January 1997 - The beginning of "Kevin's Brother" is conceived!!  The Original Universe N-Team's encounter with Voyager was conceived not much later.

17 May 1998 - I get a Fortune City account to post this story on the WWW.

Many of the dates, particularly the earlier ones, are rather vague, due to the fact that I didn't really start this chronology until later.

Now, here's a little bit about me.  My name is David Hartline.  Ever since I got a Hotmail account and started chatting on Netcentral, my computer-nickname has been "Heorotlinea," derived from my last name. . . "Heorot" being the Anglo-Saxon for "Hart," which is a type of deer, and "Linea" being the Latin/Italian for "Line."  I am currently 23 years old and have been since 8 February 2000.  I was born in Fairfax, Virginia, on 8 Feb. 1977.  In Summer 1986, while I was between 3rd and 4th grades, my family and I moved to Seaboard, North Carolina, which is a small rural town in a rural county, Northampton County, and about 15 miles east of I-95.  (It was named after the Seaboard Railway Company.)  I was graduated from Northampton County High School East in June 1995 and went to Chowan College in Murfreesboro, NC, from that fall until May 1999.  (It's only about 25 miles from my home, so I just drive there every day.)  Afterwards, I decided to learn computer programming, so in September 2000 I moved to Northern Virginia to attend Computer Learning Center.

Although I am majoring in computer programming, I like to read, play computer and video games, work with my computer, and write stories.  I also watch some television, and I like foreign languages, particularly French, Spanish, German, and Italian.  Also, I like to listen to music, especially classical music, video game music, and music derived from those types.

I mostly like to read science fiction, fantasy, and mystery, particularly (and respectively) Star Trek, works by J R R Tolkien, and Perry Mason.  I've just finished reading Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings!

The currently running live-action TV shows I watch most are "Star Trek:  Voyager," "JAG," and "Diagnosis Murder."  The canceled live-action shows I like are "Star Trek:  The Next Generation," "Star Trek:  Deep Space Nine," "Zorro" as it was on the Family Channel earlier in the 90's, and "Perry Mason."  Among my favorite live-action movies are the "Star Wars" movies, the "Star Trek" movies, the recent "Batman" movies (except for the most recent one), and the recent "Perry Mason" TV movies.  My favorite cartoon shows are/were "Superfriends," "He-Man," "She-Ra," "Thunder Cats," "Silver Hawks," "Captain N:  The Game Masters," "The Super Mario Bros. Super Show," "The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3," "Super Mario World," "The Legend of Zelda," "Ducktales," "Chip 'n Dale's Rescue Rangers," "TaleSpin," "Darkwing Duck," and "Batman:  The Animated Series."  I am quite pleased that Cartoon Network is re-showing "Thunder Cats" and "Silver Hawks," especially now that I'm in an area where the cable system carries Cartoon Network.

Among my favorite computer games are the "King's Quest" games, "Star Trek:  The Next Generation:  A Final Unity," and "Quake."  My video game systems are the NES, the GameBoy, the Super NES, and the Nintendo 64.  I like the "Final Fantasy" games, the "Super Mario" games, the "Zelda" games, the "Metroid" games, the "MegaMan" games, "Tetris," and "Dr. Mario," among others.

Most of what I write is WHATSE or based on the shows on which WHATSE is based.  The Lord of the Rings has some effect on WHATSE, but I'm not saying how just yet.  :-)  The "Final Fantasy" games may also have some impact in the story. . .

From 21 January 1998 to 23 April 1998, I was in London, England, on a three-month school-sponsored study-trip!  In the 1997-1998 school year, my school teamed up with Louisiana College, another small college, and each school sent about fifteen students and one professor to London.  (LC sent 16 students.)  The group of 31 students had classes from those two professors and three British professors.  The prof from my school taught two history classes; the one from LC taught two literature classes; one from London taught a theatre class, one an art class, and one the required London History and Culture class.  Each class was a 3-hour class, and each student took 12 to 15 hours.  The classes made use of the art galleries, museums, and sites in London.  I spent a weekend in Ireland and drove on the left side of the road there.  :-)  (And if anyone thought until this point that you drove on the right in Ireland. . . you are sadly mistaken.  Do NOT try it, especially not on the highways.  It can be quite hazardous to your health.)  Not as difficult as it may seem; you just have to remember which side of the road you should be on. . . like Kevin in "The Ultimate Encounter". . .

For my stories, I currently use MS Word 97.  I currently use a Compaq Presario Desktop with 64 megabytes of memory and a 600-mHz Pentium processor.
